Divine Reminders: Have you ever noticed how many reminders there are out there? They can range from the very mundane of computer programs flashing reminders of a lunch appointment, to public service reminders not to dig in your yard without calling the electric company. The problem with reminders though is that they can become so common we’re conditioned to ignore them.

Scripture is full of reminders too. The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:1 “Now I would remind you, brothers…” Similarly Peter, writing to fellow Believers in Christ, pens, “…I intend always to remind you…though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. I think it right…to stir you up by way of reminder…so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things” (2 Peter 1:12, 13, &15). However, these Divine Reminders are meant to cause us to remember something important to our faith. Designed to warn us of the dangers of forgetting, but also remind us of the joy and benefits of living in light of these Truths. In this short series we will be reminded of the centrality of the Gospel, the importance of the local church, our pursuit of and enjoyment of biblical fellowship, the means of grace the sacraments are to our lives, the grace gift that church discipline is to our lives individually and corporately, and finally reminded of the liberty we have received through the gospel to partner together by our generous giving. We invite you to come and hear of His Divine Reminders to us as a church.

Scripture Memory

During our series in Philippians, “Good News for Real Life,” we want to take advantage of the opportunity to memorize Scripture together. We invite you take time each week to delight and meditate on God’s Word (Psalm 1). To enable you to do this we will print and post on our website a Scripture Memory Verse each week for you to meditate on and prepare your heart to hear God’s Word.
