Outreach / Evangelism

At Covenant of Grace Church the Great Commission of our Lord is something we desire to take very seriously. We count it a true honor, privilege and responsibility to share the Good News of salvation through faith in Jesus around the world and right here in the Akron area. The primary means by which our church is involved in outreach and evangelism is by our personal witness in our daily lives. At Covenant of Grace our normal and regular people are our evangelists and are encouraged to witness personally throughout the week both in word and deed of the Savior.

We also have what we call our “eTeam” ministry which is a group of regular people who meet once every 4-6 weeks and go out into the communities in the greater Akron area with the intention of striking up conversations with people regarding their relationship with the Lord.

In addition, Covenant of Grace Church regularly hosts various community outreach events throughout the year. These outreach events are practical ways to demonstrate the free love of Christ in our community with the intention of getting to know our neighborhood and better understand how we can best serve here. These events can include community BBQ’s, Fun Fests, Woman’s Tea’s and Vacation Bible Schools. We see outreach as a great way to create opportunities for sharing the Gospel in the Akron area.

Finally, being part of the family of churches known as Sovereign Grace Ministries means we are able to extend our witness globally. Right now SGM  is planting churches in 21 countries around the world and a portion of our offerings taken each Sunday is given towards that effort. Other mission offerings are also taken each year along with the encouragement of the church family to join short term mission teams to various foreign fields
